GSROC Really rescues, I have been a Volunteer for over 5 years and have seen some horrendous cruelty to animals that are hard to stomach and we take them in no matter what. It is hard to pin point all that I have seen, but here are a couple of events A dog named Courage was rescued weighed 37 pounds was being starved by a Vet Technician she went to jail but not long enough. We named him Courage. Then the 2 day old puppies that were in the trash, they are out there in great homes now. Momma dropped off with 6 puppies. This last two weeks must be puppy time Penny had 2 puppies both now 4 weeks old and doing well she was living in really bad situation and she was terrified, doing pretty well slowly but surely with a loving Foster and her Husband. Just today Mum and Daddy, he is getting fixed even as we type, she will deliver in the next week, possibly 10 puppies, parents dirty covered in fleas and ticks. Lived outside all there lives, Back yard breeder. Hording situation of 60 dogs I believe it was around the Norco area, we rescued them and then sent them to different rescue agencies. I think we got 10 shepherds. We have 3 puppies in right now I call them wobblers they cannot walk without falling down, bad nutrition and whatever else, they are in a great Foster who does amazing things with puppies. We have an amazing group of volunteers very selfless and we work pretty well together for doggie people. I fostered Mum and 6 4 week old puppies and had volunteers helping with puppy sitting, mum ran out of milk. It was so fun but tiring, one puppy got very sick, Sammi was saved and is living the good life on a Ranch. I guess my fondest but saddest memory was a Foster Durk that I had for 18 months, he had terrible arthritis at the end he could not stand to eat or drink so he had to go over the Rainbow Bridge, the Rescue knew how much Durk meant to me, the first time I had ever had to let a doggie go. The Rescue sent Vet to my house we had a party with puppies and cupcakes and ice-cream and prayers. Maria brought flowers, later I received his ashes and his paw print, hair and I still have it I cannot scatter as I am not sure if I will stay in my house forever and I want him to go with me. I would not have stayed with this rescue if I did not believe that they are sincere and walk the talk. It takes a village for all that is done at GSROC I love volunteering at the Events and seeing our babies go to great homes, we are very thorough about our home checks and and the people that live in them. I actually really enjoy doing HV. This was a classic remark I never heard beforeI want a White Shepherd to go with my White Cat. I don't think so!!!!
