Review for Houston Humane Society, Houston, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have many pets and most of them have been spayed or neutered at the Houston Humane Society. They have been great to me and to my pets. Thanks to their low-cost services, I am able to be a more responsible pet-owner.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

some of their adoption drives and have contributed financially and with pet food donations. Their clinic is wonderful. The staff is very efficient and helpful.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

make it where people did not have to put the cost of their services on a credit card. Some people do not have them.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The great care and compassion my pets received.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

both adoption counselors and clinic workers. They were all very friendly, compassionate, and efficient.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change the fate of so many animals by placing them in homes, spaying and neutering, providing medical help and rescue.

Ways to make it better...

appointments were made. I realize that they cannot make specific appointments, but maybe they could see people in groups, say from 8-10am 10-12 am, etc

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

bad people that have broken into the facility and stolen major amounts of property. This kind of tragedy really hampers a good organization.

One thing I'd also say is that...

this is a big-hearted well-run organization. But they need the constant support of the community and donors.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About once a year

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010

Role:  Client Served & I have had several pets spayed or neutered here.
