Being a volunteer at "Beauty's Haven" is very rewarding. The animals are happy and friendly. Theresa monitors the horses constantly on these hot days. They are provided with misters and fans to keep them cool, but she found that poor Peggy Sue stopped sweating in the blistering heat on Saturday!! We took her into the barn, cooled her off in front of the fan and hosed her down. After a while her respiration slowed and she allowed me to brush and snuggle with her!!! She's soooooo precious. Theresa, Bob, and Kevin work very hard taking care of all the horses and other animals living on the farm, they can use a helping hand. I just wish more people would come out for a few hours and help out.
