Review for FIV Cat Rescue, Fort Bragg, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

My dog brought home a silly looking old cat, healing broken jaw... scar under his chin... cauliflower ear... intact male.
I took him to the vet to get scanned originally but you could tell this guy just needed a bit of help. Wanting to do the neuter/release program for strays- three shelters turned me away telling me he didn't look healthy enough and with his drooling- they suspected FIV.

After hours of running around and hanging out with this teddy bear, I decided to fork out the money (that I didn't have) to get him checked out and tested.

Naming him Clyde, mostly because he looks a bit like a bruiser lol, I had become attached to him over the 5 or so hours that we drove around town.

The shelters kept telling me if he was FIV positive it would probably be in his best interest to go ahead and put him down... What?! This guy just needed a little bit of help and a whole lot of love.

I started emailing and researching... and went back to my vet.. Dr. Nu is an older, and he fell in love with Clyde. Said there was no reason that this guy should just be written off, did the FIV test and said... 'He should be in a home where he is the only cat, however."

I have three other cats, all female... and all have their own weird quirks.
I emailed Frankie at FIV Cat Rescue and asked all of my questions- while I tried to find this guy a home...

No one wanted a special needs cat... 8 teeth, crooked broken yet healed broken jaw... Frankie put all of my fears to rest and I got this guy fixed- and he is now a happy member of the house lol

Yes, he sometimes chases the girls... but never hisses, spits, or fights with them.

He isn't going anywhere... and I can't help but think if I had listened to the shelters... he wouldn't be here!

Thank you so much for all of your help!
