I had the pleasure of completing an internship with iHi that ended up providing much more than I expected. Chris, the President and CEO, provided excellent mentorship and support, while showing how to balance the logistics of the organization’s projects with its focus on working directly with those it serves. It is clear that their model is one of servant leadership, that they are guided by humanitarian values, and that they keep cultural sensitivity as an important focus of their work.

While their work is carried out by volunteers, the organization values quality and integrity in all that they do, and their team is comprised of highly qualified experts. Rather than providing handouts to communities as temporary fixes, iHi combines its services with education based on the needs identified in cooperation with local stakeholders, thereby providing sustainable solutions to the critical needs that exist among vulnerable populations in some of the world’s most vulnerable regions.
