My eldest nephew is married to a very lovely Mongolian woman and I have been lucky enough to visit Mongolia on several occasions - as a ‘family’ member rather than a tourist. On one of my visits, I became aware of the on-going conflict between herders and Snow Leopards and subsequently, my nephew sent me information about the Snow Leopard Trust. I was very impressed at the way they were helping herders with plans and strategies, to find ways to co-exist with the Snow Leopards rather than killing them. Through patience and constructive guidance they have created a win-win situation. I joined the group to be able to participate, and donate, albeit in a small way, whenever I can.
