Review for Women in Film & Video Inc, Washington, DC, USA
WIFV accepted our documentary film project for fiscal sponsorship four years ago, and since then, have assisted us with fundraising, research, story development, and many other matters. When they accept a project, they are doing so for the long haul. Executive Director Melissa Houghton goes the extra mile over and over again -- reading materials, vetting plans, reviewing budgets, and offering sage advice on multiple topics. She is one of our most trusted advisers and one of our biggest supporters. We give WIFV our highest recommendation.
WIFV is committed to working with independent filmmakers throughout their projects, which often extend for years! We learn from the process and become better advocates for the work. It also informs the programming we provide. Looking forward to the innovations the Liza Jane Movie team is building into their storytelling!
Review for Women in Film & Video Inc, Washington, DC, USA
Women in Film & Video provides a series of vital, outward-facing programs that support all filmmakers, including those filmmakers who are women or who focus their films on female characters or women's topics. In the case of me and my co-producer, we have had our documentary film project accepted for fiscal sponsorship and we have received Seed Grant funding -- both are essential resources that will help our project get off the ground. Part of this sponsorship has included intensive contact with the Executive Director, Melissa Houghton, who has gone the extra mile in helping us to improve our film and improve our chances to receive complete funding. We have also attended numerous seminars, talks, round-tables, and other programming sponsored by WIFV that have educated us in very important ways. We recommend WIFV without reservation for their programming and for their obvious commitment to filmmakers.
