The sanctuary is a caring, safe, and well-run facility offering retired elephants peace in their later years. While the site is not open to the public, and rightly so (the elephants are not meant to be on display in any way), the Discovery Center in Hohenwald provides education, and inspiration to all of us to become involved. When you learn that these ellies have big hearts, souls, and senses of humor, how can you not donate a little to ensure their species continues?
