My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for VFW National Home , Eaton Rapids, MI, USA
My mother, Wanda Lasley Price, was raised by the VFW home from the time she was 5 until she graduated from high school. VFW Home raised women to be independent just as they did the boys. Because of their attitude, my mother married because she wanted to, had 3 daughters because she wanted to, worked at a Federal Government job and expanded her position as high as she could before retiring. I personally feel, she was the beginning of what women finally discovered they could be.
She always spoke of the home as a nurturing place. She had 4 sisters there with her, 3 older, 1 younger, not always living in the same house. At 5, she lost so much but, with the support of the home, gain the help she needed to become a success in life.
She had 3 daughters of her own, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and lived until 94. The man she loved, they were married for 60 years, was devoted to her and she to him.
I will always give credit to the VFW Home for the character, organization and support my mother always gave. She was a wonderful person and mother.
