Review for Last Day Dog Rescue Inc, Livonia, MI, USA
Last Day Dog Rescue is a great organization, the largest animal rescue group in Michigan. They work to pull dogs from high kill situations (like pounds that euthanize via gas chamber or sell to research). As a volunteer for this group, I help to transport dogs from fosters to adopters, vets, and adoption events. I also provided a temporary foster home for a dog in need of a place to go.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
seeing adopters meet their new pets, and animals from death row get rescued and placed in forever homes.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
make it smaller. It is hard to manage so many dogs, but great when you get personal one-on-one experiences with specific dogs.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
seeing the smiles on the dogs' faces and meeting the other volunteers!
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
AMAZING and DEDICATED!!!
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
open a physical location so our dogs were all centally located.
Ways to make it better...
I had more time to devote to it. It is difficult to box off an entire day to do transport work.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
that if you commit to fostering we cannot guarantee whether it will take a week or several months for your foster pet to go to adoption.
One thing I'd also say is that...
it is difficult not to get attached to your foster pet.
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
About every week
