I have been working with the Kateri Tekakwitha Fund for a few years now as a translator. I am a high school Spanish teacher and involve my students in translating the correspondence between the scholarship recipients in Guatemala and their American sponsors. I have been with the program long enough to see the life-changing benefits the program affords its beneficiaries and it is an important resource for me professionally to educate my students about the hardships faced by the indigenous communities of Guatemala, especially young women like the ones served by this special program.Kudos to Kay and all of her generous sponsors and volunteers.
