I was lucky enough to volunteer at Windcross Conservancy for a month this summer and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had. I grew up around horses and have volunteered with several organizations before, but Windcross stood out among the rest due to the knowledge, passion and devotion of the Roda family. They work together around the clock to make sure the beautiful and rare Spanish Mustangs are beyond well taken care of and have a voice. I learned so much about daily upkeep, horsemanship, the history of the breed as well as other breeds that root back to the Spanish Mustang, educational tour giving and overall sharing these horses with visitors nationwide and internationally. The Roda family are genuine, kind hearted people who truly love these horses and sharing their passion with others. I hope they stay around years and years to come, and that the conservation of the Spanish Mustang continues since they are important part of our history and so much more!
