We loved our visit to Guatemala and meeting with Mil Milagros in country director, Carolyn Daley. Carolyn had us visit two Mil Milagros sponsored schools. It was an incredibly rewarding experience to see the impact that Mil Milagros has on the children at the schools. The children were being exposed to and learning basic human fundamentals that many kids just don't get taught. We saw good hygiene with hand washing stations and teeth brushing with donated tooth brushes and tooth paste.
The visit was especially meaningful to our fourteen year old son adopted from Guatemala when he was a year old. This was our first trip back to his birth country, and I could not have been more inspired to have the trip framed around such an amazing organization. After only one day, our hearts were filled with the generosity shown by the students at both schools as they performed musical skits and dances for us! Afterwards, there was time for our two boys to play soccer, while my wife connected with the girls at the schools with the international expressions of love and warmth.
