I have to admit when I first walked into this place I was a little worried that the first person i ran into when coming in was a young man. I came here because I was dealing with a domestic violence issue and because my husband held a large threat over me. i had no idea where to go or what to do, all I did was panick for months and stayed in the relationship because I had nowhere to go and because of my two sons.

When i came to the center they were actually already closed, but a young man spotted me at the front and opened the door and asked me if i needed anything. I was taken aback and just wasn't sure how to respond because you really don't expect to see a man at a placed called the women's intercultural center. I had no idea what to do but something spoke to me and just told me to tell this young man what was going on. He told me he would be happy to help and brought me inside and we went to his office so he could help me. THis wasn't the first time I asked for help, i actually went to an organization down the street, but they sent me away saying they could not do anything. I thought this would be the same but this young man had a certain spark about him that just made me trust him. He started making some calls based on the information I provided him and I was able to file a police report with an officer that he trusted, he then made some other calls to help me file some paperwork that would protect me from the threat my husband was holding over my head. He also provided me a place to stay if needed, however, thankfully a friend had already taken me and my kids in. This young man did everything in his power to resolve my issue and because of him I am grateful to no longer be afraid of my husband. There is more to the story, but it is a little personal, but the police were able to gather enough evidence to take in my husband.

after helping me i really wasn't sure how to thank him, he told me he wasn't here for thanks he was here because God put him in this place to assist others that he guides to the Center. It was also at this moment that I found out his name was Saif and he was the executive director of the women's center. I took one of his business cards because there was no way i was going to remember how to spell that name, but i am forever grateful. I leave this review so others can know not to worry if they see a young man at the women's center, because this young man has a huge heart and he really cares.
