Review for Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center, Redmond, WA, USA
Little Bit is such an amazing experience not only for the riders, but for the volunteers as well. When I came to Little Bit for the Spring Quarter of 2010, I didn't know that much about horses or people with disablilities, and I was nervous of what would happen on my first day. But when I didn't know how to do something, I asked for help and recieved a kind response from another, more experienced volunteer. And in my classes, the kids were so amazing and inspiring that I knew Little Bit was where I wanted to be volunteering. Some of the children I have worked with can stand up on a horse and do other fantastic things that I could never imagine myself doing. It's great that Little Bit is giving children and adults this great experience. Up there on the horse, it doesn't matter if you can't use your legs or if you have any other physical or mental limitation. Everyone is treated the same way and it is such an honor that I get to be apart of something as wonderful as this. Not only are the kids great, the staff and volunteers are amazing too. There is a welcoming environment and everyone is so nice. I hope to stay at Little Bit as a volunteer as long as I can before I go to college. Little Bit rules!!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in the classes and horse shows I have volunteered at. I've seen kids do amazing things, and I've also seen them grow with confidence and pride up on their horses. Truly amazing to see.

Honestly, if I had to make changes to this organization, I would make a separate optional class for horse tack for those who don't know a lot about horses like me. Sometimes I still get confused on how to put stuff on the horses, so that would be helpful.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
watching all of the people on the horses learn and grow with confidence in what they are doing. It makes me feel like I'm apart of something bigger than myself, and it is so inspiring.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
hard-working and honest people who are so kind and willing to help whoever comes up to them with a problem.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
expand and move to the place at those stables everyone is hoping for, and also become more successful and have more volunteers, horses, and riders.
Ways to make it better...
I knew more about horses and all of their equipment. Even though everyone was willing to help me when I was confused, if I had known more about horse tack and how to put it on, I would have felt more comfortable more quickly than I did.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
having enough horses and space for the riders for classes and for equipment. That is why they really want to move to a bigger area at those stables.
One thing I'd also say is that...
it would be helpful to have a separate class on horse tack and how to put it on the horses for people who aren't very horsey. Just saying it would be helpful, it's not bad that they don't have one!
