Working for One Day's Wages as an intern has been such a rewarding experience. When you read about any organization on their website, everything looks nice and great, but I think it was really different to see how small nonprofit works behind the scenes. The amount of work ODW's small staff puts into everything that they do is encouraging and knowing that the core values of the organization is constantly being thought about really shows that they're determined to commit to what they say. Personally, I think it's one thing to work where you enjoy it just because, but it's another to work somewhere you enjoy it because you really believe in the work. When it comes to the actual staff, everything is friendly, helpful and always willing to teach. In the short time I've been working here, I've already learn so much about how nonprofits run, as well as the actual urgency of alleviating extreme global poverty.
