Review for Maasai Girls Rescue Center, SCOTTSDALE, AZ, USA
Rick Morro, Founder of Maasai Girls Rescue Center USA and MGRC International, is doing a remarkable job. His mission rescuing Maasai Girls is a critical one and one that he has dedicated his life to. As US Treasurer of this charity for over 4 years, I'm so impressed with MGRC's outstanding care for 61 rescued girls. Rick Morro, our MGRC Board members, MGRC Tanzanian staff and our volunteers have vetted and stellar credentials along with high integrity. I'm impressed that this charity is being run with total transparency and a solid plan in place to be fully sustainable in the near future. In fact, angel donors paid for an independent fiduciary audit last year, and The Maasai Girls Rescue Center passed this audit, with flying colors. Recordkeeping and accounting of all expenditures are thorough and accurate and up to date. After visiting Tanzania a couple of years ago, my husband and I saw first hand how great the needs of the Maasai Girls were. We are both very proud to be part of this organization, as well as proud to be sponsors for 3 of the girls. We've also provided large donations for the ecoFarm, and donations for their ecoHomes. MGRC's plan to be a fully sustainable charity is solid. Family style living, full time house mothers, nutritional meals, clothing, education and tutoring are providing hope and opportunities for these girls to have not just a future, but a bright future and one that will enhance them and their communities.

After learning about this wonderful charity and its mission, I was honored to be invited to join the Maasai Girls Rescue Center USA Board, as Treasurer, in 2019. This charity was founded and is run today by Rick Morro. After a mission trip spoke to Rick, he gave up his life possessions and moved to Tanzania about 9 years ago. His mission of rescuing at-risk Maasai girls is beyond amazing. Girls at the center have a safe place to live (for the first time ever) in a family style environment. They are fed, clothed and educated (including necessary tutoring). They are taught life skills including zero grazing, gardening and empowerment. This charity is unique because every penny donated goes directly to the care of the girls. This charity is also unique because it has a focus on being fully sustainable. Currently MGRC is developing a new ecoVillage. With this ecoVillage, the girls will be learning aquaponic gardening, managing and maintaining a biofuel system, and how to care for various livestock. Neither Rick, nor any of the US Board Members receive any compensation. Angel donors are picking up all admin costs. I am proud to know Rick Morro, and to be associated with the Maasai Girls Rescue Center. My husband and I sponsor several girls, and also provide marketing services for MGRC. I look forward to being involved for years to come. I highly recommend this charity!

My husband and I recently visited this Maasai Girls Rescue Center in Longido, Tanzania. We are very impressed with the center and also with the founder Rick Morro. MGRC now has 40 girls at the center. The girls all are receiving healthcare and nutritional meals, clothing, including shoes and school outfits. They share a room with one or two girls, and have clean mattresses and bedding. After school these girls have additional tutoring, which many of them need as they are just starting their schooling. This charity has an important and critical mission, and is doing amazing work. I should mention that these rescued girls are all so sweet, fun-loving, respectful, well behaved and are very eager to get an education.

100% of all dollars donated to the Maasai Girls Rescue Center goes into the center for: medical care/education/tutoring/clothing/meals for each of it's girls. Founder (Rick Morro) is working tirelessly in order to give the girls of Maasai the best chance for a better life. By rescuing and educating these girls, they then share this knowledge with their families and their village. It has been my privilege getting to know Rick and learning of his commitment and dedication to the Maasai girls and their families. My husband and I are also sponsoring one of the MGRC girls. This sponsorship is something we are very passionate about. This sponsorship provides full medical care, clothing, meals, education costs and any additional tutoring the girls need. Girls in the MGRC stay there until they are well educated, and have learned critical life-sustaining skills.
