I first became aware of Katy Cares during the fall of 2016. The founder Allison Stark came to visit with me in my office with a gift. A tree sapling that was planted in a holder . I was impressed with her passion and how she had identified a segment in Katy, Texas that needed to be served. Katy is a faith based community and the objective of Katy Cares is to serve single mothers with children in a safe and wholesome environment that included educational and family support.. She had identified the need and was organizing a solution. I became a financial contributor and about a year later I joined the Katy Cares Board as its chairman. George Bernard Shaw once said "Some men see things as they are and ask why. Others dream things that never were and ask why not?" Katy Cares saw a need and has put a solution into place.
