Review for Womens Law Project, Philadelphia, PA, USA
The Women's Law Project provides direct service, education and advocacy to advance equality for women. Their work in health care has helped to expand access to care for women by advocating for health care reform and working to end health care related discrimination.
Review for Women's Medical Fund, Philadelphia, PA, USA
Women's Medical Fund works to ensure access to safe abortion for women in Philadelphia. Like many states, Pennsylvania medical assistance (medicaid) doesn't cover abortion care. Medicare also doesn't cover abortion, so women who are most medically complicated and are likely to need more expensive medical care can have great difficulty accessing quality abortion care. WMF provides last dollar loans and grants to women to help pay for abortion care. Working with this organization I am reminded how much of a difference $25 or $50 can make for a woman and her family. I am always moved by the stories of clients who use this fund. While I support eventual full insurance coverage of abortion care, I am grateful that WMF is here now to help poor women access safe abortion care.

Review for Medical Students for Choice, Philadelphia, PA, USA
I participated in my first MSFC event in 1992 as a second year medical student. I am proud of everthing MSFC has accomplished in the last 18 years. As a medical school faculty member I am constantly impressed by the students involved in MSCF today.
