My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for My Hero Project Inc, Laguna Beach, CA, USA
I have never felt that people really understood the many ways in which The MY Hero Project
supports education in the digital age while promoting humanism and community.
The My Hero Project provides an AD FREE on line venue to share stories about heroes from all over the world. That alone would be a service. In the wake of the revelations of security breaches and fake news all over the internet, my appreciation of the MY Hero Project’s dedication to security and editorial control has grown enormously. Because the mission of The MY HERO Project is educational and users are often teachers, students and school age children, security has always been a priority.
My Hero is curated by an editorial staff to make sure all stories are appropriate for school age children. My Hero invites users to submit their stories of their heroes. The site offers help and support to teachers and students wanting to use use MY Hero in the classroom. We mentor students all over the world in learning how to make films that tell the stories of their heroes.
The mission of The My HERO Project is two fold: to teach the tools of communication in the digital age and to emphasize using those tools in identification and support of values based education.
What makes a hero? What values are embodied in acts of heroism? What do we as a society value?
How do we celebrate the “better angels of our nature” in a world inundated with stories of corruption and greed and racism. We do it by supporting the My Hero Project and listening to the stories (from all over the globe) of those working to make the world a better place.
