We are long time supporters and volunteers with Animal House Shelter because we support their mission to rescue and care for homeless animals.

The staff work hard to provide excellent care for the hundreds of dogs and cats in their care. They raise funds through a variety of creative and fun programs including adoption programs, dine outs at local restaurants, dog parades and on site events.

One of the ways we volunteer is by walking dogs to provide exercise, socializing and fresh air. It was during one of these visits we found Penny! She was adorable and very timid. She came in pregnant from a kill shelter and recently gave birth. We knew right away she was the one.

We spent a long time with Penny in the adoption room checking each other out. Animal House Shelter requires all family members and animals to meet at the shelter before adoption to be sure we are a good fit for each other. This was a great idea because we did not want to find a compatibility issue when we got home.

Animal House Shelter staff were great throughout the process. They patiently helped us through each step and made it easy. We are so glad to have Penny as part of our family!
