ALI shaped me into the person I am today — my love for animals developed and grew tremendously while working for ALI for nearly 5 years and now volunteering for them. There is something special about special needs animals that tug at the heart of everybody who walks through the doors of ALI — the compassion and love that is felt is beyond what words could explain. The attached photo is two dogs that were adopted by the family I live with — they bring so much joy to our lives!

I worked at animal Lifeline of Iowa for several years.....I may be biased in my opinion about them but I can attest for the fact that the love, attention and care they give to the animals that pass through their shelter is second to no one!

Phoebe in the picture attached came to animal Lifeline covered in ringworm, suffering from a leg deformity and very skinny from lack of food. Had ALI not stepped in and taken care of her she wouldn’t have survived, our lives would not have been blessed by her love and the people she visits in hospitals and nursing homes (she’s a registered therapy dog now) would never have been blessed by her.
