Review for Animal Lifeline of Iowa, Carlisle, IA, USA
I have volunteered with Animal Lifeline for a number of years. I adopted a 7 year old Pomeranian 4 years ago. When he developed diabetes, Animal Lifeline staff helped me measure his blood sugar until I decided he was not going to cooperate. They provided suggestions for insulin.
Each week when I volunteer, I am impressed at how the dogs want to interact with staff. They know who will give them treats, who will talk to them, and their tales always wag when they see staff. There are always reminders of the dogs' special needs and it has been gratifying to see the many dogs that benefit from extensive veterinary care and stay until they are adopted. Some are there for lengthy stays but they all get the same great care until the right "forever home" comes along.
I am attaching a recent photo of Fritz who is very glad he found his forever home.
