Several years ago I was involved in an accident that broke several vertebra and left me paralyzed. High Fives Foundation first helped by guiding me towards medical treatments and care that best suited my specific situation. After I was released from the hospital, High Fives Foundation stepped in to cover the cost of therapy treatments that my insurance did not cover. As my recovery slowed, the organization's role in my life shifted again. They organize adaptive sports trips and I was invited to participate in two of them. The sense of community and the chance to experience the world in athletic and playful ways are invaluable to me and the many others they support. This spine injury has effected every aspect of my life and l'm grateful for High Fives Foundation for helping me to rebuild a life I feel proud of
