On behalf of Bradley Hospital in Rhode Island I have to say Cardz for Kidz is a WONDERFUL charity- I wish I could give them more than 5 Stars! In 1931, Emma Pendleton Bradley Hospital became the nation's first psychiatric hospital devoted exclusively to children and adolescents. Today it remains the only such hospital in the region. A not-for-profit hospital, Bradley's mission is to provide family-focused, high-quality mental health care and specialized educational services to infants, children, adolescents and young adults with psychiatric illness, behavioral disorders and/or development disabilities so that they may reach their full potential. We're also a teaching hospital for Brown University's Alpert Medical School.
Last year I was contacted by Cardz' founder, and was originally hesitant as we could not provide photos of the children receiving the cards like other hospitals can. They didn't hesitate, our children were what mattered. Knowing this, Cardz for Kidz has provided such uplifting cards for our children when they find themselves thinking no one cares until they see their very own card and the smiles just light up their faces- the staff here love to look through the variety that are sent faithfully each quarter and pick out specific ones for each patient- in English, Spanish and Portuguese- Amazing!! As we can't show the children, here's some of the doctors and nurses with the cards for our patients in the Children & Adolescent Units, and we also try to show our love back via our many Facebook posts!
