Interning with Uptown Stories was fantastic. Our "Creating Otherworlds" instructor brought writing genre fiction to life for young kids with lots of map-drawing and craftmaking. I had a rewarding experience working individually with an initially tentative student who wrote a stunning short story. At the end of the week, the students read their work with confidence and flair. As an administrator, I gained valuable experience soliciting donations and formatting work in InDesign for our anthology. And my co-workers are the chillest!
