Review for The Warrior Woman, Inc., Clearwater, FL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have known Adrienne Nadeau for six years, both as a personal friend and as someone who has worked with high school students in my school district. When I was a classroom teacher of Theory of Knowledge, Ms. Nadeau led over 40 of my students in an exploration of language, meaning and creativity. From my own experiences with her work, I can attest that my students were inspired by her presentation and work with them to pursue further exploration of the arts and to go on to examine the relationship between language and creativity. This was evident in research done by three of my Theory of Knowledge students that year. Further, what Ms. Nadeau performs guides others to act. Her spoken word poetry is socially grounded and motivating. From the position of a district-level administrator, I can tell you that our schools are facing severe budget restrictions as well as mandates that require students to lose elective opportunities in order to be placed into intensive reading and math classes. Often, this means that the arts take a cut. In order to develop a well-rounded population, the United States requires adults who have a grounding in the arts and literature. Adrienne's programs serve as an active, engaging connection in this vein. I am not aware of other programs such as hers in our area. Supporting her work would be a boon to the Tampa Bay area and beyond.
