I am Laura a foster mom for both kittens and puppies and pregnant mommas, I have been a foster with AHS since Oct 2017 and it has been such an amazing adventure!!! First of all the shelter is a no kill shelter, which is amazing in itself!! The animal that hit home for me was BABY WENDY, she was a single puppy that I had along with a couple of litters that I had, but since she was a single pup she had lived with us upstairs with the family, she was such a sweetheart and we all loved her, but when I noticed blood on the toys when she was playing i was concerned and long story short the week she was suppose to go up for adoption was the week we found out she had a rare and aggressive form of mouth cancer! Not once did the shelter say no to any of the appointments nor did they say no to the surgery! They raised money and proceeded and the best happy ending ever was Wendy now Nova already had her new family ready to adopt her when she was done with the surgery and went to live with her forever family!! For this I am forever great full to this shelter and know that they always have the animals best interest at heart!!!
