Review for The Dog Alliance, Cedar Park, TX, USA
This place is horrible! They find and rescue random dogs, have their volunteers train them and then pass them off as service dogs to ill prepared veterans. Out of 9 dogs, I witnessed 3 returned by the veteran and 5 fail out of the program all together and be put up for adoption. I do not recommend this place at all for a quality service dog.
We very carefully select dogs from shelters to train as service dogs. Even though the dogs are trained 7 days a week for 12 - 18 months, the success rate is only about 20%. Career change dogs are placed in loving family homes as pets. Occasionally dogs are returned for a variety of reasons. This year, we had a dog returned when she retired from service work due to her advanced age. She was placed in a loving family home as a pet. She can now live out her life doing short excursions and long naps. Sadly, the related post was written by a terminated employee. We hope the employee can find a place of employment where they can thrive.
