As most people do, I believe strongly in finding a pet through a humane society or shelter. I've been to others in my years, but never have I seen such dedicated staff and volunteers. The shelter itself is on a beautiful piece of property and the animals are so well cared for. And loved! They are responsible for bringing Lena into my life - and I couldn't be happier. The Humane Society of McCormick County is excellent!
