Review for Oshkosh Area Humane Society Inc, Oshkosh, WI, USA
I have been a volunteer for the Oshkosh Area for over 6/7 years. I started volunteering there when it was in a small building with limited outdoor space. It was still one of the best operations with which I have been associated. It was clean and as organized as could be. My first and best observation was that the people were so very caring about the animals and ALWAYS kind and helpful to volunteers and patrons alike. There was a warm feeling that all of the employees liked each other and helped each other when the need arose. Now that the OAHS has moved to a bigger and more comfortable facility in many ways, the above values continue. The place is so clean and well-kept. The employees continue to be helpful and caring. The animals are genuinely cared for. Further, the employees are educated in the latest information about caring for animals and help community members with their animals regardless of where the animal originated!!! I love this place. I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
the number of animals that are adopted.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I couldn't run this organization.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The unconditional love they have for their animals.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
I think I explained that above.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
pay off loans, give raises to staff who deserve them, fix what needs fixing. What I neglected to say in my review is that this organization does not reject animals because of their health status. They still take them in and do whatever it takes to get them healthy again. I can't say that they would do a better job caring for the animals cause they do such a wonderful job now.
Ways to make it better...
I had more time.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
the number of animals that need them and the shortage of funds.
One thing I'd also say is that...
Congratulations to Joni and her staff for operating such a class outfit from where I adopt all of my animals.
