Review for Multidisciplinary Association For Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), San Jose, CA, USA
I have been a supporter of MAPS for over five years and have always been pleased with their courage and their ability to break new and valuable ground. They are determined and inspired working in such a complex field. The funds they receive are thoughtfully applied to their projects. Rick is man of great integrity, intelligence and humility. I am grateful that they continue to be sucessful in thier ground breaking work.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I have attended the MAPS conferences and I have known and discussed the challenges of research in psychedelics at length with Rick Doblin. I have met with various members of MAPS and reviewed their work.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I would get it more funding so it can do even more studies.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
I have enjoyed seeing the progress of so much research in the field of psychedelics and marijuana for use as prescription medications in areas such as PTSD.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Office workers and volunteers at the MAPS conferences. I have had many good friends involved with MAPS as financial supporters and participants in their activities.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
do more studies, gather more research from other countries and expand the field enormously.
Ways to make it better...
My experience would be better with the possibility of spending more time with Rick and his staff....I would have learned even more....I cannot speak more highly of Rick and his work.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
dealing with the resistances of the government to their work...and the lack of understanding of the healing potentials of psychedelics for emotional and spiritual transformation in the mainstream US culture.
One thing I'd also say is that...
I supported Rick to free himself up from office activities so he could put his time into the thinking and expansion work......He used every bit of this opportunity to help MAPS grow and grow it did....
