Review for Multidisciplinary Association For Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), San Jose, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

MAPS is to be commended for its support of research involving the use of psychedelics for mitigation of PTSD symptoms and end-of-life anxiety. This is a quality of life issue for so many. The costs of untreated PTSD are not only personal for the affected individuals but social for the use of mental health and (at times) legal resources. The research on end-of-life anxiety is, in my opinion, invaluable. We will all someday deal with our transition...

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

working with people who have experienced trauma, and who have benefitted from the use of medical marijuana, as well as being with those who are approaching the end of their lives and who are also benefitting from medical marijuana use.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

provide more opportunities for local members to become involved with the core organization.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the conference which was held in April, 2010.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

helpful and knowledgeable.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

work to support more research, and disseminate the results of existing research to educate the public.

Ways to make it better...

mini-conferences were held.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

public bias against medical marijuana and the use of psychedelics.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every month

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
