Review for Multidisciplinary Association For Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), San Jose, CA, USA
The potential medical benefits of psychedelic substances are becoming more and more apparent. Unfortunately, due to the legal status of these potential medications, it has been very difficult to find scientists and sources of funding to continue pushing the boundaries of our understanding of all their healing properties. Through their charismatic and enthusiastic leadership, MAPS has been crucial to this research by procuring funding and helping willing researchers navigate the regulatory barriers to doing this important work. They also play an important role in educating medical professionals and encouraging participation in medical trials.
