Review for Multidisciplinary Association For Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), San Jose, CA, USA
Psychedelics have changed my life, and the work of MAPS aims to help many others in great need to change their lives. I am a therapist and see daily clients who are resistant to treatment for various kinds of anxiety, particularly PTSD. This is one condition MAPS' clinical trials have begun to show is positively impacted by MDMA therapy when no other treatments have worked. The relief and gift to clients who have had the opportunity to be a part of MAPS' research and positively benefited cannot be told in words. MAPS is on the cutting edge of research into the use of substances to create wholeness and healing, not just address a symptom or fix a misfiring neuron in the brain.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
just appreciating the great work they are doing and reading about it. Also listening to my brother's podcasts he has produced for MAPS.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
courteous and friendly
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
change the world
Ways to make it better...
N/A
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
public bias against use of illegal drugs, regardless of whether or not that use is approved and sanctioned by the FDA for clinical trials
One thing I'd also say is that...
our society is hurting and it's reflected everywhere, the environment, families, jobs, health problems, People are behind all the pain, people are in pain psychologically. Bringing depth and meaning to those who are suffering worst is the work of MAPS
