We were new to Texas and when my son said he wanted a dog, we didn’t know where to go. It was close to Christmas, and I happened to drive by Pet Smart. I could see there was a pet adoption event happening, so I walked in. It was then that I met the fabulous volunteers who work for Frisco Humane Society. They were kind and patient, and ultimately matched my family with the perfect dog, a four-year-old Chi-weenie named Chelsea. FHS has rescued Chelsea after she had given birth to three puppies in a local shelter. Fast forward one year and we adopted another dog from FHS, a sweet Chihuahua named Maya. I admire the organization so much that I now volunteer as a foster mom myself. Rescuing dogs with FHS is the most rewarding service work I’ve ever done. I am so thankful I walked into Pet Smart that day. #adoptdontshop
