Review for Multidisciplinary Association For Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), San Jose, CA, USA
MAPS, along with the Vaults of Erowid, is a vital resource for the very real healing offered by psychedelics and shamanism. I was a life long sufferer of severe asthma and whole body eczema - my life is veritably defined by these disorders - and I have been healed with the help of ayahuasca and LSD. This may sound incredible to anyone bombarded by commercials for inhalers and hydrocortisone, but it is a fact that many of us have been healed by the careful and informed use of sacred plants. Thanks to MAPS and Erowid, information and research on psychedelics, this news will start to sound commonplace, and many more will be healed.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Meetings in New York
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Make it less eager to become mainstream. There is power in the margins!
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
open mindedness
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
inspired and intelligent
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
transform the planet into a collective intelligence that would be the envy of the cosmos.
Ways to make it better...
Had a more critical view of dominant scientific paradigms and was less eager to conform to them.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
becoming too mainstream, losing its insight from the margins
One thing I'd also say is that...
MAPS< don't lose your soul to the lovers of "objective" science. The paradigm is broken, so don't try to conform to it.
