This is one of the most effective, efficient, and wonderful nonprofits I have had experience with. Dedicated to both domestic and wild horses, and to saving them, rescuing them, and preventing their abuse, FRER does more by itself than many of the big nonprofits do, on a consistent basis. FRER rescues abused horses from auctions and cruelty situations; FRER finds adoptive permanent loving homes for horses it takes in; FRER led the fight to stop horse slaughter for human consumption in America -- and won! They seem to use every dollar frugally and carefully, and the more money they can get, the more value they can provide to America's horses.
