Review for Multidisciplinary Association For Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), San Jose, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I travelled with three other Australians to attend the MAPS Conference in April 2010. Of the many and varied conferences I have attended and helped to organize over the years, MAPS was among the most vibrant, exciting and broadly informative. The energy and enthusiasm of the MAPS team was inspirational and infectious, the Conference ran remarkably smoothly given the number of delegates and the scope of the event, and the quality of presentations was exemplary. I believe that nobody who attended could have departed untouched by the experience.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

terms of the burgeoning worldwide recognition of the issues that MAPS aims to see addressed. For too long, drug policy has been politicized at the expense of rational, facts-based debate. MAPS is helping to change that situation, for the benefit of all.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the determination of its people to make positive changes to the world around them.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

bright, young/young at heart, capable and enthusiastic.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

bring about rapid and lasting positive change, by funding and directing good research, globally communicating the results, and engaging in healthy, rational debate.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About once a year
