Review for Multidisciplinary Association For Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), San Jose, CA, USA
Psychedelic drugs have been used for millenia by certain indigenous cultures but have yet to find a legitimate place in Western medicine and psychiatry. MAPS is dedicated to supporting research on potential medical and psychiatric applications of these powerful agents. Scientific efforts to understand the most mysterious phenomenon of nature, consciousness, are also likely to benefit from psychedelic research.
