Review for Multidisciplinary Association For Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), San Jose, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

MAPS is a wonderful organization that promotes the medical uses of psychedelic and other banned medicines throughout the world. It is a bright light in a dark part of the world. Because of government hysteria and prejudice, many modern and ancient medicines, both synthetic and plant based have been unavailable to suffering patients. MAPS does its best to break through this enormous injustice and bring these medicines to the public in a responsible way. I have supported MAPS in my small way as a member for over 10 years and only wish I could do more. MAPS is a GREAT organization.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have attended conferences sponsered by MAPS and volunteered at events where harm reduction was set up and run by MAPS.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would try very hard to expand outreach and make the organization more well-known

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Being a part of a voice of reason in the darkness of state suppression of medicines that would benefit thousands of patients.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

very knowledgeable and friendly. They were intensely committed to helping patients obtain medicines that are difficult or impossible to obtain because of government ignorance.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Start even more drug trials to quicker bring outlawed medicines to market for needy patients.

Ways to make it better...

MAPS had even more supporters.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Overcoming public ignorance about banned medicines furthered by government suppression.

One thing I'd also say is that...

MAPS does wonderful work and is in the fight for the long haul.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010
