When I first came to the Beacon House I was suicidal and hopeless. I saw no way of getting out of my predicament. I needed something different and was willing to try the Beacon House program of action. The moment I arrived I was welcomed by men who were offering me clothes and food. For the first time in my life I felt safe. Through the process of the program I started to gain hope and see life in a different light. I was able to participate in community activities where I had a sense of purpose. The genuine care and love this house has demonstrated towards me is undeniable. I am now an intern at the house and attending Cal State Dominguez Hills this fall to pursue a career in counseling. I have found God and see his works daily. This house is nothing short of a miracle. I continuously see men recover from hopeless states and grow towards an active lifestyle where they help other men. I want to thank this house for the opportunity it has given me.
