Review for Parrot Outreach Society, Punta Gorda, FL, USA
Uhoh beware!!! Pam the owner never revealed she is the owner, was rude, not cooperative and was extremely incompetent. We truly believed she was a volunteer based on her lack of social consideration and poor behavior.
Susan, the Adoption Coordinator, is a sweetheart and extremely helpful. We were locked-in to adopting an African Grey named Bentley (alias Bobby). Oddly, we were never given an explanation of why they were hiding his records or true name. We bonded immediately with Bentley and were scheduled to pick him up on Sat June 9 2018. Susan had already approved this before she went on vacation for one month. We were rushed to obtain a large cage immediately and Susan passed our home inspection with flying colors colors .
Upon Susan's departure we learned that Debbie (a volunteer who we never met) was then "named" an official authority to approve or deny adoption.
We then learned that Debbie complicated the adoption process only in the interest of authorizing Bentley to be adopted by somebody else!!!
We caution you to please don't get your expectations high with this shop.... Despite being the owner, Pam never called us or intervened to correct the problems her volunteer Debbie caused.
We ultimately abandoned this shop and found an amazing 2-year old Parrot from a private owner immediately. Two days have passed and Pam has yet to contact us. We adopted a Parrot, we are content and the parrot has bonded so well with us!!!!
Good luck my friends!!!$
