MAPS serves a very unique purpose in todays angst driven consumer society. It removes the negative view the public has of psychedelics. This is especially important given humanities long history with these important natural healing plants. The number of people who know how to navigate the unique inner spaces of the individual mind are dwindling. Native cultures who have been built around these plants are dwindling and with them the knowledge and memory. By having a legit organization educate the public we conserve our heritage and ensure that future generations can receive the guidance and help they deserve.
