Review for Multidisciplinary Association For Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), San Jose, CA, USA
I first heard about MAPS in 2008, and was really impressed with all the work they do to further the understanding of psychedelics the beneficial role they can play in our lives. There is undue hysteria and fear of psychedelics which takes away from any meaningful and rational progress on the issues that might be of importance to public safety and a more rational approach to their uses. MAPS has been instrumental in bringing some of these issues into the light and bringing some of the benefits the advantage of scientific research and process.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Seeing the benefits that psychedelic substances bring into the lives of people from all walks of life.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Provide them more funding and greater freedom and opportunities to continue their work and research.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
their courage to research and promote a field that is considered taboo by many.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
bright, intelligent, caring, and dedicated.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
really make a much greater impact in their research and advocacy.
Ways to make it better...
we lived in a more rational society that rather acting on hysteria used logic and science to make it's decisions.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
the narrow mindedness of our policy makers and the fear to go forth into the new and unknown.
One thing I'd also say is that...
I would like to keep seeing MAPS continue it's very important work and expand their scope as much as possible.
