Review for Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, Inc., Chambersburg, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter is one of the finest shelters in the state of Penna. I consider it an honor to have served on the Board of Directors of Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter since 2000. It is the finest organization of its kind that I have ever known. The staff is skilled and very caring. The volunteers are the best--loyal and selfless. Their facility is clean and cheerful, and their dedication to their mission is strong. This organization, I'm happy to say, receives whole-hearted support from the community it serves.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The thousands of homeless animals who have been placed in loving homes.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Work tirelessly to have its mission succeed.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Working with people who truly care about the welfare of homeless animals, the interaction with wonderful volunteers and dedicated staff, and, of course, seeing the beautiful animals we shelter find loving homes.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

extremely kind and caring, and very skillful in the handling of the animals. exceptional in their selfless devotion to the animals.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

build its new shelter debt-free, save more animals than ever before, provide a Dog Park for the community, educate more people about spay/neuter, establish a low-cost veterinary clinic for the public.

Ways to make it better...

I won the lottery and gave CVAS all the winnings.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Future growth in Franklin County, securing municipal support from all townships served, educating the public on the proper care of animals. Getting the municipalities we serve to support CVAS commensurate to the service CVAS provides.

One thing I'd also say is that...

If people are looking for a good cause to support, CVAS is it.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009

Role:  Board Member & served as a board member for nine years.
