Review for Multidisciplinary Association For Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), San Jose, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Finally someone has had the balls (or in your case, unfoldment) to champion this exquisitely transformative-to-(wo)mankind mission, in the face of the history of the clear hazzards associated with many psychedellics. Thank you, Thank you, thank you, Rick!!!!!!! In my experiences, especially LSD-like substances create something that sure feels exactly like a resonance, I think with Serotonin, since the molequle is damn (very) near identical. This apparently amplifies all feelings, sights, sounds, tastes, etc. I've learned that in my case, every reactive feeling is simply pent-up,often times very tightly suppressed bagage from the past. By using a handful of specific questions that direct a simple relaxation squarely into the heart of these feelings, they dissolve, sometimes piles in seconds, rather than taking months or years without psychedellics (even using lower, safe to navigate doses). As the mind relaxes the exhaustive mental energy that was required to hold them in place is retrieved. -- along with aeons of tiredness. As one example, years ago I imagined my wife (at the time), me, and her boyfriend were in a tiny room. Us guys were in beds in the far corners. I imagined her rejecting me and crawling in bed with him and having delicious sex, over and over. Using LSD I was able to, over many sessions, dissolve all the sense of jealousy, posessiveness, and insecurity over loosing her and the house. How refreshing! This single issue seems to cause so much suffering for so many people. The above "worst case scenereo" inquiry technique I find to be exceedingly quick. Works with anything. Better yet: A. Imagine "I'm" stuck in my worst nightmare forever. B. Relax directly into any thoughts and feelings that stirrs up. Etc, until all the yucky issues are knocked out I absolute love the combined Maps direction of educating people about psychedellics and methods of implementing them for health practitioners. With respect to spiritual advancement, hence health, in the past I've heard a lot of people ask: "how do you do it?" People want to know the quickest way to get from A to Z. Of the many spiritual teachings I've encountered over 55 years, there are a few that stand out as being the most direct approaches to healing anything. (also, with much gratitude to my roommate's extensive research who also has some 400,000 - 500,000 books on the topic) 1. The teachings of Lester Levenson, a physisist, who discovered how to go "free" by himself in the period of 3 months after being told by a doctor that if he so much as takes a step out of the house he could die. 2. The teachings of Byron Katie 3. The teachings of Advaita These all end up powerfully and directly questioning into and dismantling all the senses of an "I" (ego) that's separate from the All. (which pristinely ends up being only a thought) As this "I" thought is questioned into, and the subconscious, pent-up feelings melt away, the ultimate freedom is uncovered. So I think that: A. Psychedellics (the solvent) + B. An exquisitely simple, direct, piercing to the heart of the matter teaching May very well be a 1-2 Punch that satisfies what people are ultimately most deeply yearning for. Also, in my experience, anything that simultaneously works the feelings out of the muscles, in particular a vibrating platform like the TurboSonic, or extremely relaxed jogging, or any type of hot yoga can make it a 1-2-3 Punch since the bulk of these limiting thoughts/feelings are located in the body.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

My experience in attending many phychedellic conferences and Albert's 100th.
