Review for Multidisciplinary Association For Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), San Jose, CA, USA
MAPS is a breath of fresh air and a fantastic networking site. It provides essential information and updates on research into the therapeutic use of psychedelics. Their respectful tenacity is enabling them to complete various research projects that I hope will lead to psychedelics coming back into mainstream psychiatry.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
The videos and written material they produce and I never cease to enjoy what I watch and read.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Legislate that they receive mandatory funding because what they are doing will save hundreds of thousands of people who are currently being ineffectively treated for psychiatric conditions.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
How it draws great minds from across the world together.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
I have not met any staff but the ones I have communicated with via email have always been helpful and prompt.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Increase research, pay for government lobbyists, run advertising campaigns on psychedelics, be less in need of volunteers, run more crisis assistace teams.
Ways to make it better...
I like the way it is.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Beliefs held by the general public that psychedelics are bad and harmful. However, the way MAPS approaches their work in a calm, rational and respectful way seems to be overcoming the hurdles one by one.
One thing I'd also say is that...
if you really knew how ineffective and dangerous some current psychiatric treatments are; and if you knew just how effective and safe psychedelics can be, then you would insist that it be a mainstream treatment.
