We weren't really looking to add to our family, but I saw a post on Facebook from Connor and Millie's Dog Rescue. There was a sweet-face furbaby who caught my eye. I read that she would be at an adoption event the next day so myfamily attended the event. When we got there and met this little fluffball, we realized she was a bit to shy for our household. No worries, we walked around and met some of the other furbabies. One immediately caught my attention. She had the sweetest face... and a cast. My daughter went over to her and pet this sweet baby. She got a lick right up the side of her face! We spent a little time with her and I knew this sweet baby was a perfect fit for our family. I spoke to her forster mom and filled out an adoption application. She told us that she was surrendered to a local shelter with a badly broken leg. The shelter said the leg would most likely have to be amputated. CMDR saved this precious baby and took her to an amazing doctor who was able to save her leg! I wasn't sure if they would allow us to adopt her while she was still being treated for the broken leg. But I knew she was meant to be part of our family. We got the call for a trial period, to make sure she was a good fit. I knew the moment she walked in our door that she was meant for us. She lit up and her personality came out. With a promise to continue her medical care, Lily became a permanent member of our family! Today she is happy, healthy and totally spoiled! Thanks to Connor and Millie (CMDR) our sweet baby received proper medical attention and was given a second chance at a happy life. CMDR saves lives of those cast aside. They have amazing Volunteers who give their time and love to rehab these sweet souls so that they can live the rest of their lives getting the love they deserve!
