I volunteer with many shelters and rescues and have to say, this one is by far my Favorite! They truly care about the animals they take in and it shows with in every decision they make. They don't just try to find a home, they try to find the furever home! Run by volunteers only, they save and change lives, daily! I currently have two fosters with SSRR and can say they received all the medical attention they needed, and promptly! Any applicants are carefully screened and I love that! We put a lot of time, effort and love into each of these babies and it pays off when you see them placed in their furever homes.

They also will not turn an animal away just because it has medical problems, instead the fundraising begins! One of my fosters needed emergency medical and it was approved without hesitation. Many people complain about paying "so much" to rescue a dog and if it was really a rescue, it would be less. Well, just for my foster alone, I can assure you, her adoption fee does not even begin to cover her medical expenses and that is the case with many of our intakes.
